Troyes is out of the radar for many people and the ones who’ve heard the name seems to automatically think of it for its outlet stores. It’s too bad for them because they are truly missing out!
Troyes historical city center has a Medieval look and a distinctive architecture. Charming, romantic, quiet, it conquered my heart way too easily! Do I really need to mention that it is in the Champagne region? 😉
There are many things to do and see in Troyes but I think that the best is simply to wander through the small cobbled streets, admire the timber frame houses, and just generally enjoy the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere of the city.
Here are just a few pictures in case you need convincing 😉

The preservation and restauration of such an architectural heritage is no piece of cake!

If there is one thing that you might not want to miss it is the Saint Madeleine church and its incredibly detailed rood screen. Check it out here.
It is rare to see such a multi colored city, such a diversified, yet uniform and well preserved heritage in such a lovely atmosphere, don’t miss Troyes!
