Berlin is Vegan paradise! With over one million vegans living in this incredible city, it’s no surprise, that there are so many vegan restaurants, cafés as well as shops and the must visit, World famous, Vegan Avenue!
Berlin has been on my BID list for a very long time so this year for Valentine’s day, I decided it was time to pay a visit. When you’re vegan, some places can be a little tricky to go to, the lack of food options can be a bit stressing and finding vegan friendly restaurants a bit too time consuming, although I must admit, it’s getting easier and easier. There is no better feeling for a vegan than planning a trip knowing that there will be unlimited options to choose from!!
It’s therefore easy to understand that, when we arrived in Berlin, our first goal, was to head straight to Vegan Avenue to do some shopping!!
We started by some shoe shopping at Avesu. They carry lines like The Vegetarian Shoes, Bourgeois Boheme, Dr Martens and even the latest vegan sneakers by Esprit.
Yes I bought those tan ankle boots from Novices you can see in the picture below! They are mine and I love them!!
Mommy is shopping for shoes but I just want cuddles!
Next, we obviously went to DearGoods. DearGoods has a surprinsingly large selection of clothes, jewelry, bags and wallets. I think it’s the first time I saw Matt and Nat handbags for real in a European store! DearGoods is not just vegan, it’s also eco-friendly and fair-trade. It doesn’t get much better than than!!
Yes, of course I bought something there as well 😉 A super cute People Tree jacket!! And I was so busy in the store, I forgot to take pictures!
Last we headed to Veganz and Goodies for snacks and mostly to look around. Since we’ve been in Luxembourg for a while, we were pretty much familiar with all the brands available except for the cheeses which we can’t really find here…yet! It’s still super cool to be in a store when you don’t need to worry about the content of the products because you know they are all vegan!
I just loved those vegan dog treats, they are so cute!
A few useful links & notes:
OK… The title ‘Vegan Avenue’ is a little bit wishful thinking. It’s not a whole avenue, it’s only a block for now, with basically 4 shops. As listed above, you will find there, the German Veganz grocery store with a Goodies café at the entrance, the Dear Goods clothing store and the Avesu shoe store.
But even if it’s small, it’s still super nice and there is enough choice to fill up the empty space in your suitcase, and more!!
Location: 34-35 Schivelbeiner Straße – 10439 Berlin
The official shops websites:
Note that the shops are closed on Sunday except for the brunch organized at Goodies.

The Green Fashion Tours Berlin offers “unique guided excursions exploring the most interesting sustainable fashion and upcycling spots in town.” You can chose a regular tour or customize your own. It can be done by bike, foot or public transport. It sounds just super fun. I must try next time!!
