This is Miss Coco, the creator of this site. To comply with certain laws and regulations, it is important that I give you various information on this website, its content and how you may use it. Basically, I have to provide you with a set of terms and conditions, which apply to anyone browsing around.

RTatW Terms & Conditions

These terms & conditions set out (i) the terms of use of which you may make use of my dear and beloved website https://www.RoadtripsaroundtheWorld.com (“RTatW“) regardless of how distributed, transmitted, published, or broadcasted, and whether you are here as a casual visitor or a registered user, (ii) specific restrictions that apply like copyrights and (iii) various other information (the “Terms & Conditions“).

Although I have tried to make these Terms & Conditions not too boring, they still are. Please read them anyway, before you start to use RTatW. By visiting and using RTatW you confirm that you accept these Terms & Conditions, consent to the practices described in these Terms & Conditions and that you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms & Conditions, you must not use RTatW.

No part of this blog, including its pictures, drawings or any of its contents may be reproduced, copied, modified or adapted, without the prior written consent of the author, Miss Coco.

On RTatW, you will find a lot of content, specially created by Miss Coco, to help you organise your next road trip or enjoy the places you visit. Such content offered for free, includes, but is not be limited to pictures, road trips maps, mini guides and postcards (the “Exclusive Content“).

Obviously, such Exclusive Content is solely for personal use and can not, under any circumstances, be used for commercial use of any sort. This Exclusive Content can not be distributed or published or else, by anyone, but me!

Dear bloggers /website owner: No, you can’t publish my Exclusive Content on your website or blog or offer my Exclusive Content to your subscribers, like if my Exclusive Content was yours. It doesn’t work that way and I will use every possible legal way to get you to remove my Exclusive Content from your site. Of course, you can link to RTatW and even use part of my Exclusive Content as long as you give me credit. You know, the way things are usually done!

You can always contact me at the email address indicated above and below, to discuss the possibility to use such Exclusive Content for something other than personal use.

Other restrictions? Yep!

As a responsable person, it is your job to make sure that you respect these Terms & Conditions.

Don’t engage in conduct that are illegal, offensive, abusive, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another’s privacy, etc. Basically, just be a nice person.

Be yourself too. Impersonating others, either a person or a business, is bad. Don’t do it.

Don’t encourage conduct that would constitute a criminal offence, or that could give rise to civil liability.

No you can’t insult me because I’m vegan or wish for my death. Again, that’s bad! Refer to the first point and be a nice person.

There is no need to come around here to brag and promote your firearms or other prohibited items. Quite frankly, RTatW isn’t for you, if you’re someone who is afraid to use their brain.

Don’t try to hack RTatW. Thank you very much. What would you gain anyway?

Actually don’t try to use RTatW in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair its servers. RTatW is an information / entertainment (?!) website, browse around, download my mini guides and maps, enjoy! Like a normal person!

I will probably add to this list as time passes so if you’re not sure if you are being a nice person or a jerk, you can come back here.

Affiliated links & Ads

As you may have noticed, I use affiliated links, mostly from Amazon and Booking, when I recommend products that I love and think you may love too. The way it works is classical: if you purchase something, I get a small commission, at no extra cost to you.

Apparently I have to specifically say that RTatW is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. It doesn’t cost you anything extra to use these links, but I earn a small commission for helping you find a useful product.

Voila!

In addition, since having multiple Amazon accounts made my life complicated, I switch to a service provider called Skimlinks which does its magic on its own for international users.

Furthermore, there are a few adds in the side bar, which are mostly Google Adsense adds. Google Adsense uses cookies so if you want to know more, you should read my Cookie Policy.

Lastly, you have hopefully noticed I have a shop on Society6. I think that when I link to my own shop it’s not considered as an affiliated link?! But just in case I am mentioning it so you are fully informed! Hope you like my shop!

Registration

Whilst enjoyment of most of RTatW does not require registration and can be accessed as a casual visitor, access to some specific areas are restricted to RTatW Newsletter’s subscribers. This is my way to thank my dear subscribers, for allowing me to pop into their inbox.

If you wish to be part of the happy few who get sneak peeks of what’s coming and personal things I share, you can use one of the forms available around here, to subscribe. I’d be honored. If you wish to do so, you should however, read another boring page, which is about RTatW Private Policy.

Very very General Terms

On RTatW, I give advise on how to Road Trips including some safety & security tips. I can not be held responsible if you follow these advise & tips and something bad still happens to you. Obviously, I hope nothing bad happens to you and do take this opportunity to send you all the good vibes I can!

Every now and then, I also give recommendations on specific products and again, can not be held responsible if such products do not meet your requirements and/or are not appropriate to you. Also, I can’t be held responsible if the supplier no longer produces the specific item or if the product you buy is not functioning or any other case.

I sometimes give recommendations on hotels & other accommodations and can not be held responsible, if your experience isn’t the same as mine.

Furthermore I also give a lot of recommendations on things to do, places to visit, places where I had a fantastic time but I can not be held responsible if these do not exist anymore, if the conditions to access have changed or if, in general, you can’t find them or enjoy them or else.

If I ever give “how to”recommendations which can, in any way, be taken as a medical advise, do know that these are not medical advise and that you should seek professional help. Again and I think you have understood the concept by now: I can’t be held responsible!

So just to recap, RTatW is a personal website and blog where I express personal opinions about places, and provide recommendations based on my experience. I just can’t be held responsible for anything! Even if you follow my advises, to the letter, partially or else and things do not turn out, how you expected.

Seems stupid to have to include in Terms & Conditions? Well maybe not so much, unfortunately…

Bad language

Although I believe RTatW is a suitable read for anyone, at any age, there might be a few bad words here and there. It happens! I’m sorry. I’m trying to eradicate them!

Security

RTatW is managed on WordPress.org and is hosted by BlueHost which I highly recommend as a web host. I have registered to various BlueHost security features and also use, amongst other things, JetPack to add additional features. RTatW is accessible via https:// which means it has a SSL certificate and a little padlock, next to its name when you visit. Just a little reassuring!

In addition, I am careful when installing plugins and only use reputable ones.

All the files uploaded to RTatW are uploaded by me: such files include the pictures I take and the mini guides, maps and drawing I create, usually as JPEG or PDF.

My computer is always kept up to date with the latest version of softwares.

Basically, I follow all the minimum accepted industry standards and probably more, to protect RTatW and its users. Security is important to me for RTatW and for you.

RTatW contains links to other websites that are not controlled, in any way, by RTatW. Please be aware of this, when you click on any such links.

Although I only like to websites that I have myself visited, I can not be held responsible for the privacy practices and/or policies of any website other than RTatW and can not give any guaranties that such websites still exist, still fonction properly and still hold the information expected, at the time of your visit.
