I’ve been calling Luxembourg my home base for longer than I thought I would. I can’t complain too much… There are an incredible number of castles to visits, gorgeous areas to hike and I live in a city which is a UNESCO World Heritage site! All the things I love in the middle of Europe!

If you are intrigued by this tiny country, I have created a map which will take you on a tour of the whole country! Yes the whole country, but it is small, you know!! This itinerary includes some of the best medieval castles in Europe. Check it out below.

If you are a castle lover like I am, there is one book you should get and it is called A Portrait of the Castles of Luxembourg. It isn’t that easy to find and cost a pretty penny but it is filled with absolutely gorgeous pictures of all the castles of Luxembourg, including the ones, you and I, can’t visit!

I got it as a gift and I love it.

A castle you can sleep in?

The Chateau d’Urspelt is ideally located to explore the North of Luxembourg, be in a quiet environment before heading to Clervaux to see the Family of Men exposition! I know, I haven’t told you about that yet. Got to do it!
