Dear Readers,
Many thanks for stopping by and huge thanks for coming back!! I’m truly honored and so glad that you like my blog! I know I said this before but I’ll say it again and again!
Today, I wanted to share with you a few updates. So here they are:
Life in General
March has been intense! Like way too intense and it looks like April is following it’s path! What’s going on?!!!
Oh wait? It might have to do with the fact that I have too many projects in my head! 😉 So many things I want to do and so little time… I’m sure it sounds all too familiar to you too.
At this point a quarter of 2016 has already gone by and I’m not quite sure where it went? 2016 goals? Might have to scratch those and re-writte them! It’s just like that, sometimes you have to go with the flow. “Go with the flow.” What a great saying… but quite frankly it is easier to say that and easier to do it, when the flow takes you into the direction you wanted to go… and so far the ‘flow’ seems to be taking me into unknown territories and certainly not the ones I expected or wanted.
As you know, I’m not a full time road tripper and I don’t live in a van. Although Mr A and I love road tripping, we also enjoy the comfort of our home and we just loooove sleeping in our bed. Mr A and I also have jobs, like ‘regular jobs’… I told you previously that 2015 ended with a new exciting role for me and it now feels like the 1st quarter of 2016 has been solely about juggling between my various responsibilities and clients. I knew it was going to take time for me to adjust, I didn’t realize it was going to be so brain damaging!
April is showing no signs of slowing down but I know that I have to put boundaries. Do I really have to accept calls past 9PM? Do I really have to answer emails past 11PM? Well, actually probably, but that means organizing the rest of my days a little better…
Organisation is key and planning is my friend! 😉
What’s new on the RTatW?
Since my last Blog update post, I’ve taken you to some of my favorites German Castles, like the Lichtenstein castle and some incredibles cathedrals like the Cologne cathedral. I realize my latest articles have been very ‘Germany’ oriented since our trip to Berlin and beware, I still have a lot of other places I want to tell you about!
Also, since I’m always somehow in the middle of planning road trips, I shared with you some tips on how to plan the best road trip for yourself. I don’t believe in “one size fits all approach” so my tips are about integrating your needs, your wishes, your style into a customized itinerary that is best for you.
And if you need some advise on eco-friendly products to make your road trips more enjoyable, you can find some advise here.
I’ve also finally worked a bit on my Destination Page to make things easier for you to find. I realized Germany wasn’t even on there! And I know I’m still missing a lot of destinations, but hey, there is progress so it is worth mentioning!
Finally, the comment section is out… for good this time! I can’t handle the spams and comments are so 2008! So let’s connect on Instagram or even Twitter if you wish. I’m not super active but I will be more and more, especially if I get to hang out with you.

I draw maps… and castles and then I put the castles on the maps!
Well that’s a way to put it!!
Last month, I added 3 new maps and all things considered, it’s not so bad. They are completely free to download so do not hesitate!
In practice it’s a little bit more time consuming than the above title might lead you to think.
Each of those maps required quite a bit of research, each castle took me an average of 1.5 hour to draw and than there is the ‘putting’ together part, using Photoshop and Indesign, which is fairly time consuming on its own. It’s really a lot of fun for me to work on those and I learn so much in the process. I wanted to tell you a little bit about this process to let you know that, these maps and the ones to come, have been carefully created with lots and lots of love. So I hope you like them and I especially hope these maps will inspire you, maybe for your next road trip, maybe simply to do what you love!
And the winners are…..
When I published the walking tour map of Berlin, I quietly did my first give away! Thank you for participating and now, it’s time to announce the winners….
Drumroll…
Number 1: Mark, you won the drawing of the Reichstag!
Number 2: the Brandenburg Gate drawing goes to Paula.
Number 3: The Checkpoint Charlie drawing goes to Bradley.
And last but not least, the bonus drawing of the Deutscher and Französicher Doms goes to Isabelle!
Congrats!! Emails will be in your inbox this week-end to organise the delivery of those drawings.
Newsletter?
Let’s not even talk about this, ok?! ???
So for now, keep on subscribing (hints there will be more give aways very soon!), but don’t worry if it looks like nothing happens when you do so.
Coming soon?
I have made lots of progress on what’s to become my next mini guide… Just saying…
